Food Tasting | 3-in-1 Concept at Paradise Inn

Being a Chinese, I shouldn't just know how to cook but also appreciate Chinese delicacies. Though I'm not a good cook nor a veggie person, that doesn't stop me from trying out the varieties of food presented before me. So I'm a food, dessert and tea person. To try everything in one place, where will that be?

It's gonna be Paradise Inn by Paradise Group.

Being the 3rd culinary concept, Paradise Inn is presented as an all-in-one dining experience of a restaurant, tea house and dessert place. Thus the menu is circling around these 3 areas. Miss your grandma's home cooking when away from home? The dishes offered at Paradise inn gives a nostalgic feel of a simple yet heartwarming taste for every local Chinese.

So now, gonna introduce to you their new menu that is chosen from the best of most popular dishes to bring you the awesome taste of Chinese dishes by Paradise Inn.

Our Choice from their Menu:
  1. Fruit-infused iced tea and Floral & Herb-infused hot tea
  2. Double boiled black chicken ginseng soup
  3. Stewed Pork Belly with Lotus Bun
  4. Braised Tofu w Crystal Prawns
  5. Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns w Salted Egg Yolk
  6. Thai Style Sauteed Baby Kai Lan w Salted Fish
  7. Supreme Seafood Fried Rice

Stewed Pork Belly w Lotus Bun $2.60 each
First of all, the bun is soft which means the amount of time spent on steaming is just right. It has a mild sweetness coming from it. And the pork belly is definitely awe! It looks like those braised pork belly (based on their color in red) and totally melts in our mouth so easily.

Thai Style Sauteed Baby Kai Lan w Salted Fish $10.90
Fresh vegetables make that crunchy sound in your mouth. The salted fish did not overwhelmed the overall taste of this dish. Love it. Probably I should learn to cook at home too. Because I can't stop having another serving of this dish. Maybe I'm too easily contented w food. It doesn't have the bitter taste which is good because if it does, it means either it is overcooked or too much of condiments used.

Supreme Seafood Fried Rice $12.90
This fried rice is like 蛋炒饭 because the egg yolk brings out the yellowish of this dish. Very fragrance and morsel of it is not enough. 粒粒分明 that tells how much of skill the chef has. Awesome. You can find prawns and scallops within. And a generous amount of caviar too. Definitely can feel that 'popping' in your mouth.

Double-boiled black chicken ginseng soup $23.90
This is definitely a good try because of the overall goodness of this soup. The black chicken has a very soft texture from the boiling and easy bite. Not oily and sweetness coming from within every mouthful. Spot that chicken claws in the pot! This soup helps strengthen one's body constitution. It has been very long since I had and definitely benefits from it.

Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns w Salted Egg Yolk $18.90
I love this. Salted egg yolk covers around the prawns makes it a little special. The supposed salty taste did not overwhelmed the taste of prawns within. The combination of salty and sweet balance up indeed. Good to go along with beer, as suggested by my husband.

Braised Tofu w Crystal Prawns $16.90
The focus is on the tofu. Silky and soft. Melts in your mouth again. I somehow find my liking on braised food. It really tastes good. Esp for tofu. Gonna whip up this dish at home in my own way. Oh ya... prawns are quite fresh.

Floral & Herb-Infused Hot Tea $3.80
I chose Forget Me Not, Rose, Dried Longan & Chrysanthemum. It has this good detox agent, helps lower blood pressure and also having the calming effect. Nice try.

The restaurant has this Dragon Gate Inn 龙门客栈 feel with their set-up. Even their menu. Do you feel the same?

So that's the end of my 2nd food tasting at Paradise Inn. My husband and I give it a 8.5/10.
